SC&H Group, a leading regional CPA and management consulting firm, announced they are planning a campaign to provide support to the city of Crisfield, MD of Somerset County that was affected by Super Storm Sandy.
SC&H Group realized that an area much closer to home – Crisfield, MD – had been damaged as badly as the neighboring states of New York and New Jersey. SC&H launched an internal effort to assist the many families who lost everything during the storm. The firm collected necessities such as clothing, blankets, toiletries, etc. and delivered them to the First Baptist Church of Crisfield for distribution. Additionally, the SC&H Group Foundation donated $10,000 to Crisfield Chamber of Commerce and PNC Bank whereby 100% of the funds will go to the relief effort to rebuild houses destroyed and not protected by flood insurance coverage.
After the SC&H volunteers witnessed the devastation suffered by Crisfield communities, SC&H Group decided to seek out the help of the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) to spread the word of the need for support in Crisfield. Beyond offering financial assistance, SC&H will be assisting with manpower and many more of the necessary requirements instrumental in getting this initiative underway.
