Michael’s Fresh Market (the “Company”) is a chain of ethnic grocery stores operating in the greater Chicagoland area. Operational and financial challenges led the Company to file for Chapter 11 protection.
Strategic alternatives were evaluated during the restructuring, including outreach to local and regional buyers. Individual locations attracted different buyer interest.
The stores were sold through multiple transactions, preserving community access and maximizing value across the portfolio.
