Ron Causey

"Our commitments to our clients, colleagues, and community are the pillars of our success."

Ron Causey

Ron brings so much energy to everything he does, and it’s contagious within the SC&H walls. A varsity wrestling coach with a knack for team building, Ron is most proud of the career opportunities that SC&H has helped to provide for its hundreds of employees over the years. When he co-founded SC&H in 1991, he saw a void in the industry for a firm intensely focused on its clients, colleagues and community, and that has formed the backbone of his mission for over 26 years.

While the firm started with a solid foundation in auditing, accounting, and taxation, under Ron’s leadership it has significantly expanded its consultancy arm, all while building a service culture of excellence within and across its practices. Ron attributes this culture to fueling the firm’s dramatic growth, and his high standards for client service have helped SC&H acquire and maintain its reputation as a group with powerful minds, passionate teams and one that produces proven results.

When he gets out of the office, he likes to travel with his family, exercise outdoors (biking and hiking) or develop the Hereford High School wrestling program as the coach of its varsity wrestling team. He draws immense happiness and satisfaction from seeing the positive impact wrestling can have on youth athletes, and sees a lot of overlap in sports and business.

Ron is actively involved in a variety of board positions, including:

  • Stevenson University Board of Trustees
  • University of Maryland Accounting Advisory Board
  • Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore
  • Junior Achievement of Central Maryland
  • Business Volunteers Unlimited
  • Towson University Accounting Advisory Board
  • Advisory Board for Betamore
  • Chairman of the Hereford Recreation Wrestling Program

Ron graduated from Towson University with highest honors, and is a CPA licensed to practice in Maryland. He is an active member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT).

The accounting and consultancy world keeps Ron on the edge of his seat, and he loves it. He views this era as very exciting and primed for challenge-seekers and growth. He believes that the cream of the crop is going to embrace change, stay focused on the future, and not bury their heads in the sand. And Ron intends to do just that – not just survive, but thrive.
