As a Principal, Ashley Bell brings over 17 years of experience, with a focus on serving the affordable housing and real estate development industry. She specializes in serving developers and contractors involved in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) projects, providing assurance and consulting services tailored to the complex compliance and reporting requirements of LIHTC developments, HUD-financed properties, and other affordable housing initiatives.
In addition to her experience in public practice, Ashley has spent time in private industry focusing on multi-family property management accounting. This background gives her a unique dual perspective, combining the strategic oversight of an auditor with the practical insights of an operator.
Known for her technical precision and client-centered service, Ashley partners with developers, contractors, syndicators, and property managers to deliver value at every stage of a project’s lifecycle. From pre-development planning through stabilized operations, she is committed to helping clients navigate the evolving regulatory landscape of affordable housing.
In addition to her technical responsibilities, Ashley spearheads SC&H’s sponsorship of major advocates for the affordable housing industry, including Housing&, the Virginia Housing Alliance, and the Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition.
Ashley is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Maryland and a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), and was a nominee for the 2024 MACPA Women to Watch Emerging Leader Award.
Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband and energetic Irish Setter, Lily. Playing tennis, traveling to new places, and finding the best new restaurant are some of her favorite pastimes, but nothing beats spending her free time relaxing at the beach.
