SC&H Group recently donated 84 refurbished laptop computers to the Baltimore-based nonprofits Children’s Guild and Arc Baltimore. We worked with student intern Gavin Wilson, a sophomore from Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, who generously provided his IT support services to clean the laptops of highly sensitive client data and ready them for donation.
SC&H works with the Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Corporate Internship Program, part of the Cristo Rey Network, which is comprised of 26 Catholic college preparatory schools for young people who live in urban communities and who would otherwise not be able to access a private college preparatory education.
Through the program, we provide real-world business experience to students that can directly help them with future career opportunities.
In total, SC&H Group donated 60 laptop computers to the Children’s Guild, a nonprofit dedicated to serving children and adolescents with trauma disorders or who have autism spectrum disorder and/or multiple disabilities. They also donated 24 computers to Arc Baltimore, which supports more than 6,000 adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
We are very grateful to Gavin who is a shining example of a student who has a bright future in IT. Without his help, it would have been extremely challenging for us to donate the equipment to these nonprofits.
