Due to cloud ERP solutions, organizations are able to create technology-centric business models that allow for easy integration with applications, operation automation, and flexible platform capabilities.

Businesses are utilizing ERP with the same end goal since its inception, integrating and managing all aspects of business operations. However, today’s business models are quite different and are much more reliant on technology. While core ERP operations remain the same, system integrations have changed significantly with these technology centric business models. Today’s ERP technology allows businesses to reach global consumer bases, automate their operations, and analyze business performance like never before.

Many legacy ERP systems that remain are client server based and have significant limitations compared to today’s ERP applications. Modern cloud based ERP solutions utilize tremendous improvements in architecture and programing, these improvements, generically called cloud technologies, have created an ERP platform that allows for flexible core capabilities while also supporting a large partner network. These partners build both on applications or enhance the native capabilities of the ERP application. The latter approach is evolving very quickly and promises to be how ERP platforms will work into the future.
