SC&H Capital Advises Dutch Gold Honey in Sale to New Water Capital

Dutch Gold Honey (“Dutch Gold”) and the related businesses of McLure’s Honey & Maple Products, Gamber Container Company, The Bacon Jug Company and DGH Logistics are a multi-generational, family-owned and operated provider of ingredients and food solutions, including honey and maple syrup, to retailers, CPG manufacturers, and food service companies. Dutch Gold honey is used in a variety of products, such as salad dressings, cereals, yogurt, and sauces.

Ralph Gamber founded the Company in 1946, and multiple generations of the Gamber family have owned and operated the business over time. Nancy Gamber, the current President and the youngest of the second generation, grew Dutch Gold to be one of the most respected names in the honey and sweetener industry.

The Gamber family needed a path for Dutch Gold to transition to the next era of growth and success, so they engaged SC&H to help determine a path forward. Important goals of the owners:

  • Allow existing management to grow the Company
  • Create generational liquidity for shareholders
  • Bring capital to support investments in operations

The SC&H team guided the Gamber family through an M&A process to evaluate multiple potential strategic and financial options. The Company received significant interest from multiple parties, but ultimately, determined that a financial investor was the best path to achieve their goals. The Gamber Family selected New Water Capital as their partner for Dutch Gold in the next phase of growth.
