Board of Directors elects Kalsi to succeed co-founder Ron Causey.

SC&H Group, a leading management consulting, audit, and tax firm, announced today that it has named Pritpal Kalsi as Chief Executive Officer of the company succeeding Ron Causey, who co-founded SC&H in 1991 and has held the position the past nine years.

Kalsi, a Director of SC&H’s Business Performance Management (BPM) practice, assumes the CEO position January 1, 2021, and reports to the company’s board of directors. He will continue to oversee BPM, which is the firm’s largest service line.

“The announcement of Pritpal is the culmination of years of planning by our organization which has always been focused on results. We have the governance and structure in place to ensure we are providing the firm our clients need,” said Causey, who will remain with the company. “Pritpal is brilliant, dynamic and humble. More importantly his ability to listen, collaborate, innovate, and bring ideas of his own are some of his finest qualities.”

As CEO, Kalsi will oversee the day-to-day operations of SC&H whose more than 250 employees own the firm through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. SC&H serves clients from rapidly growing private sector businesses to Fortune 500 companies with global brands. Its nine strategic practices not only include audit and tax, but technology advisory, wealth management, risk management, business performance, corporate tax and contract compliance. The firm also operates SC&H Capital, which was formed in 2005 to advise clients interested in selling or merging their businesses.

SC&H is built around strong leadership teams that have extensive experience and are regarded as experts in their respective practices. Last year, Accounting Today named SC&H Group the “Best Accounting Firm to Work For” in the country.  Inc. Magazine dubbed the firm a “2019 Best Workplace” and it was recently named “Top 100 Firm” by INSIDE Public Accounting.

“It is an honor to have been named CEO of such a dynamic company,” Kalsi said. “The future here is bright and our opportunities are endless. For us to maximize on those opportunities, we can’t lose sight of who we are, a people focused firm. For me, it is exciting to be in this position and have the support of my fellow directors as we look to what’s next for the firm.”

SC&H Group’s culture is driven by two mottos: “Powerful Minds, Passionate Teams, Proven Results,” and “Clients, Colleagues, and Community.” Kalsi said he will continue to focus on building a strong culture that supports these two critical concepts within the organization, as well as pursuing a foundation of innovation and enhancing the firm’s reputation as a trusted adviser.

Prior to joining SC&H, Kalsi was a consultant with a Big Four firm where he led the design and implementation of Oracle-Hyperion applications for Fortune 500 clients. He joined SC&H in 2008 as a Senior Consultant with BPM and was promoted to Director of BPM in January 2017.

Kalsi specializes in providing finance and accounting business process reengineering and optimization advisory to Chief Financial Officers. He has more than 15 years of experience in providing business design and system implementation consulting that is focused around accounting consolidation and close, financial planning and analysis, business intelligence and data analysis, and financial reporting processes.

Kalsi has taken on leadership roles within SC&H in recent years. He has spearheaded SC&H’s corporate-wide Leadership and Training initiatives. And he has led the firm’s Innovation Committee made up of a team of senior executives selected to oversee research and ultimately structuring a framework for innovation at SC&H Group.

“We have to be looking at these exciting and dynamic elements such as emerging business trends and technological advancements as opportunities as they are not only going to challenge the way we conduct business, but also impact our Clients’ businesses. We must look at not only what services we’re delivering but especially how we deliver those services in order to be the firm our Clients need and expect to support their growing and evolving businesses,” Kalsi said.

When Kalsi takes over in 2021, Causey, who this year was named “Managing Partner Elite” by Accounting Today, will focus on continuing to assist the firm with business development, recruiting, career development and training, and lead the effort to develop more new service offerings. He will also continue to work within the community. Currently, Causey sits on eight boards including Stevenson University Board of Trustees, Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, Business Volunteers Unlimited and Junior Achievement of Central Maryland.

“As a Co-Founder and CEO of the firm, I have always been about providing a great environment where talented professionals can develop and have exciting opportunities to better themselves and our Clients. It gives me great pride that we have someone like Pritpal to help lead the firm in its next chapter. I know we are in great hands, ” Causey concluded.
