Stuart Rudo, CPA

Stuart Rudo, a Director of SC&H’s Tax team, has been with the firm since 2003, providing income tax and cost segregation expertise to his clients. Stuart’s tax acumen covers all forms of for-profit income tax and income tax compliance, including for C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and individuals. In addition, he performs mergers & acquisitions tax consulting services for business combinations. 

With former Big 4 experience, Stuart holds public accounting expertise combined with a thorough business understanding making him an asset to his clients. Since Stuart has experience in all aspects of income tax and cost segregation studies, he can provide sophisticated, often overlooked Federal, state and international tax planning services to help clients minimize their present and future tax liabilities, as well as advising his clients on how reclassification of capitalized costs in combination with cost segregation studies can lead to savings of income, personal property, and real property tax. 

Stuart serves clients in a variety of industries and company sizes including small, emerging growth companies, to large multi-location public corporations. Though he serves multiple industries he has specialized expertise assisting industries:

In addition to Stuart’s involvement with the Tax team, he assists SC&H’s Mergers and Acquisitions team. Stuart is a reputable audit defense advocate, having successfully defended his clients’ positions in many cases, and as an income tax specialist, has on numerous occasions helped clients preserve capital.  

Stuart earned a B.S. in Accounting from Towson University and a M.S. in Taxation from the University of Baltimore. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed to practice in Maryland, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). 

He formerly served on the Board of Directors of Family and Children’s Services of Central Maryland and currently serves on the Towson University Accounting Advisory Board. Outside of the office, you will find Stuart coaching youth soccer, or as an avid runner, he can be found training to tackle his next obstacle course race.
