M. Ryan Weir, Jr.

Principal

Ryan Weir is a Principal with SC&H Capital, bringing over 18 years of experience in investment banking and debt capital markets. He supports the firm’s Capital Solutions practice with a focus on new client development, transaction execution, and advising businesses on capital structure, liquidity, and strategic financing options.

Throughout his career, Ryan has structured, underwritten, and executed more than $50 billion in complex debt transactions. He is highly experienced in bank loans, leveraged finance, structured credit, and private debt markets. Prior to joining SC&H, Ryan spent four years building and co-leading a capital advisory investment banking group, following a 14-year tenure at M&T Bank Corporation. At M&T, he served as Vice President in the Debt Capital Markets platform, managing all aspects of capital intermediation and financial strategy execution for middle market clients.

Ryan has led engagements across a wide range of industries, including retail automotive, transportation & logistics, seasonal retail, mortgage servicing rights (MSR) financing, and general industrial sectors such as building products and specialty chemicals. He is passionate about helping business leaders navigate complex capital challenges and is known for his pragmatic, relationship-focused approach.

Ryan holds a B.A. from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University. He is a FINRA-registered professional with Series 63 and Series 79 licenses.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and giving back through community-focused efforts. He is committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen local organizations and promote lasting impact.
