Garren LaFond, a Principal on the Advisory & Transformation team, helps finance and accounting leaders of middle-market and Fortune 500 companies evolve and grow by aligning data, systems, and processes with proactive business strategy and forecasting. He works with companies across many industries, specifically manufacturing and government contracting.
With over 10 years of experience, he believes in a team-based approach that is most effective when fostered across SC&H and client resources to deliver impactful process improvements, construct intelligent business processes, and architect future-ready solutions. Garren firmly believes that people, processes, and technology must be nimble to appropriately facilitate future-minded business growth, either organically or through M&A activity. Throughout his career, he has led finance transformation initiatives with highly acquisitive companies, allowing him to gain a wide array of experiences to advise his clients on the best ways to integrate acquisitions into their existing finance and accounting processes.
Garren has also led numerous deployments of Oracle Enterprise Performance Management software solutions and is a specialist in business process improvements, ensuring that processes are purpose-built and make sense. These complex and extensive transformations focus on company-wide budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, capital programming, close-consolidation, master data management, and external and management reporting.
Many of these deployments also leverage SC&H’s Data & Analytics practice. Through collaboration with the Data & Analytics practice, Garren can provide his clients with additional facets of finance transformation, such as purpose-built data models and synchronized one source of truth reporting. One of his passions is finding the best flexible solution that is purpose-built and specific to his clients. As part of this process, he uses his internal relationships at SC&H to engage additional expertise as needed to exceed client expectations.
Garren graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stevenson University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Finance. He is currently a member of Stevenson University’s Brown School of Business Advisory Board. He is also a Certified Scrum Master and leads the administration and maintenance of the internal Oracle Partnership program. Garren is passionate about helping his colleagues reach their personal and professional goals and is always available to provide mentorship and advice to SC&H employees on and off his team.
Outside of work, Garren is an avid foodie and enjoys dining and drinking wine with his wife, Val. They also love playing strategy games and spending time with their two dogs, Hunter and Diesel.
