When a client that was new to the firm called with a “quick question” about selling their business, Angelo and the tax team were able to offer a different structure to defer and potentially reduce income taxes for both the seller and the buyer. Recognizing that people approach issues from different perspectives, worked in the client’s favor.
Angelo is a Principal in SC&H Group’s Tax & Advisory Services practice. He brings more than 35 years of public accounting experience and has lectured on various technical tax subjects. Angelo is a solid resource in assisting clients with federal and state income tax with a focus on middle and large market clients, pass-through entities (S corporations, LLCs, and partnerships) and the associated equity owners. He provides tax planning and mergers and acquisitions experience to help create tax efficient structures. He has knowledge of U.S. income tax issues including accounting methods and tax efficiency studies.
Angelo has been instrumental in helping the medical cannabis community gain clarity on complex business issues. He helps individuals and companies working in the Cannabis Industry with all tax planning, compliance, preparation, savings, and can make sure that you’re in full compliance while taking advantage of all tax deductions that are legally available to you. Angelo helps identify and apply tax and business strategies to increase cash flow while making sure companies and individuals are in full compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
Angelo is a frequently presenter for the Hopkins Fast Forward Business incubator in Baltimore and serves as Chairman of the Advanced Tax Institute for its presentation on Partnerships and Real Estate. He is also on the International Advisory Council in a program to help revive Baltimore’s port standing through Baltimore Sister Cities, Inc. In his spare time, he is known as a “gym rat” and likes to exercise with a fondness for running.
With a Bachelors Degree from Loyola University, Maryland and a Masters Degree in Taxation from the University of Baltimore, Angelo is a CPA licensed to practice in Maryland. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA, and an active member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).
