General  Session: Fraud: What You Need to Know as a Nonprofit Organization
SC&H will help raise awareness of the risks that could potentially impact nonprofit organizations. The presentation will focus on the different types of fraud that could occur, red flags that participants should be aware of and what controls should be implemented to minimize the risk of fraud.  Additionally, we will spent time discussing “best practice” ethics and compliance initiatives that can help to make employees more aware of the potential for fraud in the workplace, give them specific things they can watch for that may be an indication that fraud is occurring, and provide them with the confidence to report potential fraud without the fear of retaliation.
Speakers, Joe Freiburger, Director & Russell Ojers, Senior Manager, SC&H Group

Breakout Sessions:
Changes in the Payment Landscape
This session will review changes in the payment landscape as individuals and other organizations migrate from checks to electronic payments. We will also discuss best practices and services that can help your organization’s receipts process. Speaker: Chris Arrington, Technical Product Consultant, SunTrust Bank

Endowment Spending: Designing a Policy that Works
Nonprofits are continuously under pressure to balance current and future needs when determining the purpose, structure, and governance of their endowment assets. Even when the appropriate strategy and process are in place to align saving and investing with long term goals, one piece of the puzzle is often secondary – spending. This session addresses the importance of applying a disciplined strategy to how an organization spends its endowed resources and how that spending impacts current budgets, future initiatives, capital projects, investment strategies, and administrative expenses. Speaker: Quanda Allen, First Vice President, Foundations & Endowments Specialty Practice, SunTrust Bank

Closing  Session: Managing Health and Welfare Plans In Light of Affordable Care Act Mandates
Speaker: Bill Freeman, AHT Insurance
