ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Larry Adam joined Raymond James in 2018 as the chief investment officer for Private Client Group. Prior to joining Raymond James, Larry, as a managing director, held the dual roles of CIO of the Americas and global chief investment strategist for Deutsche Bank private wealth management. He sat on the U.S. investment committee, the management team responsible for investment strategy and asset allocation for U.S. discretionary client portfolios. He was also a member of Deutsche Bank’s global investment committee that formalizes and establishes the global house view. Prior to being named Deutsche Bank’s global chief investment strategist, Larry was the head of the asset allocation and quantitative analysis group, the group responsible for analyzing and implementing client-specific asset allocation strategies. He joined Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown in 1992. Larry has been featured prominently on CNBC and Bloomberg and is frequently quoted in well-known publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and the International Herald Tribune.
Sam Zappas heads a consulting practice focused on formulating and executing revenue strategy. He was a senior executive at ARTISTdirect, Inc.; a co-founder of CityInteractive, the Internet division of media conglomerate CHUM Limited, and a founder of Acmepet, which was acquired by PetSmart. He was also a founder of The Johns Hopkins University Media Center. Mr. Zappas has served as a Director on the University System of Maryland Foundation Board since 2001. He is also on the Advisory Board of the William E. Kirwan Center for Academic Innovation. Over the years he has been a member of numerous other boards of non-profits and private companies. Mr. Zappas also advises several Silicon Valley and artificial intelligence start-up and early-stage companies.
Ken Mann is a Managing Director with SC&H Capital, where he provides distressed M&A advisory to private company business owners. He has personally handled unique sets of circumstances and found appropriate, innovative solutions for more than 300 middle-market businesses. With more than 25 years of experience, Ken specializes in driving go-to-market strategies for engagements, interfacing with lenders and attorneys, negotiating offers and purchase agreements, conducting auctions, to testifying in court in support of the firm’s clients’ transactions. He has presented many workshops for the University of Maryland SBDC, the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) as well as the Florida Bar and Mississippi Bankruptcy Conferences. He has been published in ABI’s The Journal, TMA’s Journal of Corporate Renewal, Asset Based Lending (ABL) Advisor, and Asset-Based Finance (ABF) Journal.
