Mike VanderVat is a Principal in SC&H’s Technology Advisory practice, where he helps clients align technology strategy with business goals to drive growth and improve operations. He supports organizations through fractional and interim CIO services, strategic planning, technology assessments, and software evaluations and implementations.
Mike brings over 33 years of experience in the technology industry, including more than 25 years focused specifically on financial systems. He works with clients across a range of industries, including software, AI, cloud services, financial services, franchise organizations, and behavioral health.
Known for his hands-on, collaborative approach, Mike is passionate about solving complex problems, mentoring others, and working closely with clients to drive meaningful, long-term results for both their organizations and their teams.
He earned a B.S. in Information Systems and Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park, and completed Financial Accounting coursework through Harvard Business School Online.
Mike is deeply committed to his community. He volunteers as an assistant coach for the girl’s varsity basketball team at Mt. Hebron High School, serves as an advisory board member for BFG Financial Advisors, and is an active member of the ODK Leadership Fraternity. A youth sports coach since 2003, Mike values teamwork, leadership, and growth both on and off the court. A proud dog dad to several special needs pets, he plans to open a senior and special needs dog rescue in retirement.
