Nick Distefano, a Wealth Advisor on the SC&H Wealth team, joined the firm in 2016. He specializes in assisting individuals & families in tax compliance and planning, developing customized financial plans, and implementing investment portfolios.
Nick started at the firm with a focus on tax compliance, working with high-net-worth individuals on tax return preparation and planning across several areas including: tax-efficient retirement withdrawal strategies, managing lifetime tax rates, rental real estate transactions, stock option planning, and charitable giving strategies. Nick also focuses on supporting attorneys and business owners in navigating cash flow planning and the intricacies of multi-state tax filings.
With a strong foundation in tax planning, he now works alongside financial advisors to build financial plans and portfolios tailored to their clients’ specific goals and objectives. Nick relies on his tax background to execute strategies that minimize taxes wherever possible; a key component to building wealth. He strongly believes that his expertise in both tax and personal financial planning provide clients a holistic solution to their financial needs.
Nick attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned his B.S. in accounting and graduated top of his class during his undergraduate studies. He enjoys spending time with his family, getting in an early morning round on the golf course, and is a regular volunteer with Junior Achievement of Central Maryland.
