Christine Taylor Collection, Inc. – A 27-year-old Pennsylvania-based retail display company that provides holiday displays to well-known national retail stores including Nordstrom, Brooks Brothers, Starbucks, REI, JC Penney, and Kohl’s. As retail slowed, the company’s customers were not placing orders with the frequency or volume of previous years. The founder decided to retain SC&H Capital to solicit offers for the company.
SC&H identified the most likely groups to acquire the business, ultimately working through diligence with several prospects. Following in-depth negotiations on behalf of the seller, SC&H was able to structure a transaction that paid all of the secured debt in full, released the seller from all personal guarantees, retained employees, and now properly capitalized, allowed CTC to operate under the umbrella of a multinational corporate retail powerhouse.
