And Recognizes Three for Exemplifying SC&H Core Values
For the second year in a row, SC&H Group partnered with the Baltimore Business Journal to recognize the region’s 50 fastest-growing companies at the ‘Fast 50’ Awards.
To create the rankings, SC&H Group worked alongside the Baltimore Business Journal to evaluate eligible private companies by their average percentage revenue growth between 2016 and 2018. SC&H Group verified the revenue numbers of each company to ensure the list’s accuracy.
This year’s awards program was held October 17th at the Winslow Parker Metal Building in south Baltimore. SC&H Group CEO and co-founder Ron Causey congratulated all ‘Fast 50’ designees at the event and to further recognize the listmakers, SC&H Group presented three new awards representative of their core values. “The “3 P’s,” or powerful minds, passionate teams and proven results.
“These three elements have been critical to the success of SC&H Group,” said Causey. “And the companies we honor tonight emphasize these values and appreciate the role they play in success.”
Causey presented the Powerful Minds Award to Kiddie Academy “for embodying a lifetime of learning culture while continuing to grow and scale.” Causey lauded the company’s strategic thinking that guided growth while “staying connected to their product.”
The Passionate Teams Award went to KCI Technologies. Causey said this year’s winner “credited their growth to hiring the right people and supporting them to be successful. Also, they are an employee-owned company now, which reinforces just how much they believe their employees impact their business.”
The Proven Results award, said Causey, “recognizes a commitment to providing cohesive programs and efforts to clients, colleagues and community.” Causey told attendees this year’s winner, Atlas Restaurant Group, “has developed a reputation in Baltimore for helping establish a culinary scene that simply was not here before.” Although Atlas is growing into other markets nationwide, Causey lauded the company for maintaining deep roots in Baltimore.
Chris Helmrath, Managing Director, SC&H Capital, also spoke at the event, sharing the perspective and insights he has acquired through a career of partnering with business to meet their short- and long-term business objectives as part of their succession strategies. Helmrath recognized the similar traits all honorees shared: a recognition of the role talent and human capital play in success, the connections these businesses had forged with their customers, and the business’ ability to evolve to capture market opportunity.
“We were fortunate to hear great tales of capturing market opportunity from this year’s winners,” said Helmrath. Whether opportunity took the form of “geographic expansion, product or service diversification, acquisition or innovation — you all showed that in knowing your customers’ needs you can evolve to help provide value.”
At SC&H Group, he added, “we have prided ourselves on this concept over the last 28 years.”
