The Vision Behind the SC&H Tyson’s Women’s Mentor Network [Podcast]
January 6, 2015
In the following podcast interview, Jackie Kosovich, Senior Risk Management Consultant with SC&H Group, discusses the vision behind the SC&H Tyson’s Women’s Mentor Network, which provides professional development and community service opportunities to the firm’s female employees.
In what began in late 2012 as a social networking group, the SC&H Tyson’s Women’s Mentor Network has grown into something much bigger and more vital. In the past two years, the group has become a platform for providing a more positive and collaborative work environment.
In addition to offering professional development opportunities that focus on topics such as enhancing work-life balance and improving networking skills, the group actively supports community service activities. These include participating in the Race for the Cure, as well as volunteering for the Alternative House.
The SC&H Tyson’s Women’s Mentor Network also hosts events that feature dynamic speakers who aim to inspire professional growth. For example, in November, the group hosted the event Finding Your Leadership Passion with Robin Gerber, historian and best-selling author. Gerber’s inspiring presentation incorporated stories from women who have broken many boundaries, including Eleanor Roosevelt, Katherine Graham, and Ruth Handler.
The SC&H Tyson’s Women’s Mentor Network reinforces the firm’s continual focus on providing an outstanding work culture, while also being passionate about the communities that SC&H Group serves.
