Unclaimed Property and The Risks of Noncompliance
March 7, 2014
Many states have become more aggressive when it comes to audits targeting unclaimed property and compliance reporting. This means organizations need to effectively manage a wide variety of state laws governing unclaimed property compliance, as well as identify and report unclaimed properties to numerous jurisdictions.
On Tuesday, March 11, Jenn Arias, a Senior Manager with SC&H Group, is presenting at the 3rd Annual Virginia State & Local Government Day, hosted by the Virginia Society of CPAs. Attendees can participate in Jenn’s presentation and the entire day of meetings either in person or via a live online webcast.
Jenn will provide an overview of the unclaimed property laws and review the key terms and definitions. In addition, she will discuss the reporting requirements, the risks of noncompliance, the audit process, as well as offer an overview of the ongoing Delaware Voluntary Disclosure Agreement (VDA) Program.
Following is an exclusive podcast interview with Jen, who provides insights into what she will be covering during her presentation at the 3rd Annual Virginia State & Local Government Day.
