Kate Coleman knew what she wanted in life, and for the past seven years with SC&H Group, has been working hard and achieving her professional dream as a CPA and business advisor.
A member of SC&H’s Audit team, Kate performs attestation services including financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations, including employee benefit plan audits and Uniform Grant Guidance audits. She works with clients in the DC Metro Area operating in the government contracting and not-for-profit industries.
Kate is driven not only by pursuing her dreams, but is also passionate about making the dreams of others possible. She is active in her community, putting her professional experience analyzing financial data, internal controls, and systems to work as a member of the Audit Oversight Committee of FAES, the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences. Kate is also a frequent volunteer at the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
Outside of auditing and volunteering, Kate spends her time traveling, hiking, and cycling. She is a member of WABA, the Washington Area Bicycle Association, and is an active supporter of bike advocacy in Arlington, Virginia. After all of this activity, she quenches her thirst by enjoying one of her very own home brews!
Prior to joining SC&H, Kate was employed as a Senior Accountant at a nationally-based Certified Public Accounting firm where she supervised audit and review engagements for numerous not-for-profit organizations, professional services firms, and service contractors.
Kate graduated with a B.S./B.A. degree in Accounting from The University of Richmond. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA).
